Obituary for Margaret Elizabeth SULLIVAN (Tough)

SULLIVAN, Margaret Elizabeth, 69, of Tavistock passed away, with family by her side, at Stratford General Hospital on Tuesday, October 18, 2022. She was born at Toronto on December 4, 1952 a daughter of the late Harold and Beatrice (McGregor) Tough.

She was a RPN and had worked at PeopleCare Tavistock, for 25 years where she was a charge nurse. She was co-founder of the Block Parent Program in Tavistock, she implemented the Beaver Program in Tavistock with her pack name being “Rusty”, was a volunteer at “Hot Lunch” at Tavistock Public School, was a volunteer at Stratford General Hospital, supporter of the CTA (Canadian Transplant Association), had a great love for travel, meeting new friends, enjoying new cuisine and supporting those she loved. At the time of her passing she was a Cornea and Tissue Donor for Trillium Gift of Life.

Margaret is survived by her husband, Michael James “Mike” Sullivan whom she married at Scarborough on October 7, 1972; two children, Sean Michael Sullivan (Laura), Victoria Anne “Vickie” Sullivan; one grandson, Nathan Schmidt; her sister, Cindy Mansell (David); her brother, William Tough (Amelia). She was known as “Auntie” to several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her grandson, Bastain, her granddaughter, Jaiden; her sister, Susan Tough.

Relatives and friends will be received in the Francis Funeral Home, 77 Woodstock Street North, Tavistock on Sunday, October 30, 2022 from 1 pm – 1.45 pm where a service to celebrate Margaret’s life will be held at 2 pm. The Rev. P. J. Carefoote will officiate. Reception following.
