WOELFLE Dorothy Lovina, 100, of Tavistock passed away peacefully at Stratford General Hospital on Tuesday July 18, 2023.
She was born in South Easthope Township, Perth County on April 12, 1923 a daughter of the late Daniel and Geraldine (Wittig) Yausie.
Dorothy was an avid knitter, quilter, crocheter and enjoyed working with stained glass. She was a longtime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Tavistock Branch #518 Royal Canadian Legion and a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Tavistock. In her younger years, she was a knitter with the J.G. Field & Co. Woollen Mill in Tavistock.
She married Harold Henry Woelfle on August 3, 1946. He predeceased her on September 19, 2005.
Dorothy is survived by her four sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas and Darlene, Kevin and Diane, Keith and Brenda, Kenneth and Cheryl; grandchildren; great grandchildren; her niece, Mary Ann Keller (Larry deceased) and family.
She was predeceased by her grandson, Sean Woelfle; her brothers and sister-in-law, Lloyd and Sara Yausie and Walter Yausie; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Erma and Walter Merklinger.
A private funeral service was held in the Francis Funeral Home, Tavistock. Pastor Michael Mayer officiated. Interment was in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Tavistock.
